Dr. Kavitha Bhatia will present on “The Science of COVID-19 and School Reopening- An evidence based review of the data around school reopening”
Please join us for a very special Parent Association Meeting and Special Presentation on Wednesday November 4 at a special time - 9:00AM-10:30AM.
We will have a brief 15 minute PA Meeting, followed by a very special presentation by our own Dr. Kavitha Bhatia on “The Science of COVID-19 and School Reopening- An evidence based review of the data around school reopening.” Dr. Bhatia will provide an overview of the science and data reviewed and implemented to create best in class protocols for school reopening to ensure the safety of all students, Faculty, parents and the Curtis community. The presentation will be recorded and shared with our Curtis Community.
Her presentation will provide an evidence based review of school reopening data, efficacy of mitigation strategies, school reopening guidelines, positions of various health authorities (AAP, CDC, WHO), impact of school reopening on child wellness and the new, emerging data on children and Covid, with those ages 1-10yo having decreased susceptibility, transmissibility and severity of disease.
Dr. Bhatia is a pediatrician, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Strategic Officer, Chair of COVID National Committee and Chair of 24/7 COVID Command Center for a national health system with 46 hospitals in 14 states, serving 2.6 million patients and having cared for over 150,000 COVID patients. Dr. Bhatia's background as a pediatrician and Fellow of the AAP provides the perspective of the AAP and child health advocates on child wellness during this pandemic. Her unique experiences leading a health system through this pandemic, in close collaboration with national, state and county health agencies including the CDC, CMS, FDA, HHS, CHA and FEMA, provides subject matter expertise in COVID and pandemic response.
